District 28 encompasses DeSoto, Marshall, and Tate Counties. District 28 has participated in many community events in the past year. The members have also worked very hard on several fundraisers, which enabled the district to establish a scholarship fund for nurses in the district. Some of the activities are listed below:

• Blood drive (Lifeblood)
• Art Contest in DeSoto Co. Schools to honor nurses during Nurses' Week
• Reception for Art Contest Winners, parents, and school officials
• T-Shirt fundraiser during Nurses' Week
• Katrina relief - medical support in district
• River kings Hockey/Explorers Football
  • Preferred Non-profit organization
  • Non-profit ticket sales
  • Chuck - a- Puck booth operators
  • Community Cares Voucher program
  • Sponsored 115 school children to attend an exhibition hockey game
• Established a scholarship fund for nurses in the district
• Convention Host District for 2005

• Active members attend monthly meetings - attendance increases each meeting!
• Monthly e-newsletters and meetings to members and other colleagues in the district
