24th Annual Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias
October 16-17, 2024
Jackson, MS
Join us for the 24th Annual Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease presented by The MIND Center at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The goal of the conference is to inform, educate, and train individuals in Mississippi and surrounding states who are caring for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). This year’s conference, themed “Building Community-Clinical Linkages” will provide insight into ways to build connections between community and clinical sectors to improve ADRD care, emerging trends in Alzheimer’s and dementia research, prevention, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies, as well as evidence-based techniques to prepare individuals and families to successfully navigate the caregiving journey.
The conference will kick off Wednesday morning with a keynote presentation on building community-clinical linkages by Ms. Liz Hall, health systems director with the Alzheimer’s Association. Sessions will be delivered in both general and breakout format and conference speakers are experts from organizations within Mississippi and beyond who provide care and support services to older adults and persons with ADRD. Special guest, Byron Brown, award-winning journalist and news anchor for WJTV News Channel 12, will be our honorary emcee on the first day of the conference. The Conference concludes Thursday afternoon with a motivational presentation to reenergize attendees in their roles as caregivers and care partners of persons with ADRD. Conference programming will provide approximately 13 continuing education hours.
