Dr. Beverly A. Russell serves as an Assistant Professor in the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of North Alabama. She began her career in pediatric nursing before advancing to roles in nephrology, medical-surgical, dialysis, and critical care. Prior to entering academia, she served as a Clinical Nurse Educator and later as Nurse Manager at North Mississippi Medical Center, where she led multiple specialty units, including a COVID-19 critical care team.
Dr. Russell earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samford University, her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Leadership from the University of North Alabama, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women.
Teaching in the undergraduate nursing program at UNA, Dr. Russell integrates evidence-based practice, leadership development, and experiential learning. Her scholarship focuses on simulation-based education, professional development, and disaster preparedness in nursing. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on innovative simulation and telehealth education.
